I know it’s already February but I figured I would share some photos of Eden’s first Christmas. She was, of course, too young to really understand what was going on and mostly just wanted to eat the wrapping paper but it was fun never the less. We kept it really simple this year, we had a $50 limit for both Tim and I and $30 for Eden. This meant we had to be thoughtful and creative with our gifts. It was wonderful to know that we didn’t spend money that we didn’t have and to take the time to think about what our spouse would really appreciate. Our desire is to raise Eden in a Godly way and to not teach her that Christmas is all about receiving gifts. We want her to know that Christmas is a celebration of Jesus birth and a time to show loved ones how much you love and appreciate them. The only way to do this is to show her by how we celebrate.
Sadly our Christmas brunch fell through because our guests, my sister and her family, all had the flu so they stuck pretty close to home. We postponed it though, and had it later in the week.
How did you celebrate with your newborns this season?
